Mobile phones have become affordable and ubiquitous. However, in most parts of the developing world, the data connections on these are either not present, or are of very low bandwidth and erratic and expensive for a large segment of the population.
We suggest that we use voice connections to deliver educational content in such scenarios – we call this a Mobi-MOOC. Essentially, in Mobi-MOOCs, when a user calls up a number (can be toll-free), an Interactive Voice Response System takes over and guides the user through learning objects.
